Major Responsibilities:
- Lead construction and engineering estimating functions within EPC, including the development and maintenance of the estimating repository in InEight software.- Analyze scope and contract documents and specifications to determine overall project requirements and identify potential risk factors.-
- Collaborate with leadership and SMEs to develop strategic plans to improve estimating accuracy and project execution.-
- Deliver comprehensive project estimates aligned with cost, schedule, quality, and EHS objectives.- Administer and ensure adherence to estimating processes, procedures, tools, and templates.- Assemble and engage internal and external resources to develop proposals and estimates.- Work independently and with management to define project scope, tasks, timelines, and budgets.- Provide guidance on cost structure and recommend efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.- Maintain awareness of current industry costs and best practices.- Maintain thorough documentation of all estimate components within the approved estimating system.- Develop labor productivity metrics and installation unit costs based on site conditions, historical data, and Compatible Units.- Prepare detailed listings of material and equipment for estimates and obtain vendor quotes as needed.- Ensure accurate recording of all labor, services, equipment, and materials in the estimating system.- Prepare cost baselines and summary sheets, securing approvals from necessary stakeholders.- Support procurement activities related to external contractor requirements.
Education Required:
- University degree - preferably in engineering, business or project management
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in construction projects including project management, scheduling, estimating, cost controls preferably experience with Civil, Electrical Distribution/Transmission projects.- Field experience is considered an asset.- Experience using InEight Estimating & Control software or other Estimating software- Experience with Primavera P6
Competencies:- Skilled in administering Total Installed Cost estimates and developing Compatible Unit/Standard Activity/Task Unit Estimates.- Quick to learn new technologies and software.- Highly organized and effective in fast-paced, high-demand environments.- Proficient in estimating various project types and collaborating in team-based efforts.- Strong customer focus with the ability to understand and meet expectations.- Capable of managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities efficiently.- Adaptable under pressure with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.- Strong oral and written communication skills.- Self-motivated, proactive, and a reliable team contributor.- Professional and effective in interactions with all organizational levels, clients, and vendors.

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
