**Job Summary**:
You will own estimating for civil, utilities and earthworks bids from take-off through tender submission and post-award hand-off. Using Bid2Win/HeavyBid and Bluebeam, you'll produce accurate, compliant estimates, assess risk, and collaborate with operations and commercial teams to optimize cost and constructability. This role suits a methodical problem-solver who mentors others and helps grow our project pipeline in Calgary and Western Canada.

- Produce detailed, compliant cost estimates and bid packages using Bid2Win / HeavyBid to support competitive, margin-aware proposals.
- Perform quantity take-offs and drawing markups in Bluebeam to ensure bid accuracy and traceability.
- Analyze subcontractor and supplier quotations; convert inputs into consistent cost models and vendor risk summaries.
- Lead risk assessments and contingency recommendations to protect project margins and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with operations to validate production rates, build schedules, and constructability assumptions prior to submission.
- Facilitate project hand-off and post-award onboarding to ensure smooth transition from estimating to execution.
- Mentor junior estimators; document estimating norms and build a consistent estimating playbook.
**Requirements**:

- Proven estimating experience in **civil / utilities/earthworks** projects.
- Hands-on proficiency with **Bid2Win or HeavyBid** and **Bluebeam**.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Knowledge of Canadian contracts, codes and standards relevant to civil works.
- Excellent cost modelling, risk analysis, and project coordination skills.
- Based in **Calgary, AB**

- Estimating experience in **water & sewer**, roadbuilding, or similar heavy civil scopes.
- Prior leadership/mentorship role within an estimating team.
- CET, PMP, Quantity Surveyor or equivalent designation.
- Familiarity with local suppliers/subcontractors and regional unit rates.
