The Food and Beverage (F&B) Supervisor/Banquet Captain excels at hospitality and guest service By maintaining a positive atmosphere for guests and associates under the direction of the Director of Food & Beverage and Outlets Manager, the F&B Supervisor/Banquet Captain performs the following:
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Plan and coordinate food & beverage functions with or in the absence of F&B Management and prepares the frontline team to execute including adherence to applicable Banquet Event Orders with great attention to detail
- Leads pre-shift meetings, ensures completion of side work and cleaning duties for the F&B outlet in preparation for each meal period and/or event, meeting, and/or banquet function
- Performs host duties in the restaurant by greeting and seating guests promptly as required by answering telephone and inquiries including reservations management
- Supports the frontline team as needed
- Creative ability to promote restaurant, banquets, and food & beverage programs via applicable social media platforms, including menu contribution and content creation
- Well versed within all Marriott brand standards pertaining to the Restaurant and Banquet operations
- Assist with the coaching and training of banquets and restaurant associates on service delivery and service recovery where applicable
- Assist Food & Beverage Management with processing banquet billings/invoices
- Tracks guest/service issues so that action may be administered to prevent re-occurrence and supports the resolution process
- Assists with cash and liquor control procedures and ensures they are followed by all food and beverage team members
- Assists with monitoring monthly inventories of the food and beverage department
- A role model for applicable liquor and health and safety regulations
- Supports the departments within overall guest satisfaction
- Other duties as assigned by F&B management

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 1 year of food & beverage experience in a Supervisory role, or other relevant experience
- Excellent service skills and a role model for others
- Flexible availability to work all shifts including but not limited to stat holidays, weekends, evenings, etc without restriction
- 1-2 years+ experience with content creation a big asset
- Good knowledge of local health & liquor laws
- Valid Serving it Right Certification
- Good knowledge of wines, beer and spirits
- Knowledge of Micros an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Current Food Safe certification (preferred)
- Diploma/degree in hospitality or related topic a strong asset
- Proficient in MS Office programs i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams
- Self-starter who takes initiative and has a demonstrated eye for detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple functions while meeting deadlines

Pay: $22.50-$25.00 per hour
