**Minimum Requirements**
- Following all safety and health procedures to avoid accidents and hazards
- Post-Secondary education in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or combination of experience.
- 3-5 years program/project management is required
- Proficient in change management implementation
- Ability to work under little or no supervision
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a dynamic organization
- Financial, (cost and bottom-line) business acumen
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Project) and other software such as Buildertrend would be an asset
- Competence in 3-D modeling and creating 2D prints would be an asset
- Ability to read, and interpret Blueprints
- Willing to work overtime to meet customer needs
- Previous experience in construction, automotive or related manufacturing industry is an asset
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding customer service, communication, and people skills
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Valid G license
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership for good program governance, alignment, quality assurance, management, implementation, tracking, finances, infrastructure, planning, and improvement
- Utilize tools such as BoM’s, budgets, timelines and open issues to deliver a successful program launch
- Develop program scope of work based on customers’ requirements
- Assemble and Lead team to ensure launch is completed on time, on budget and that all Customer and Balance Containers requirements are met
- Identify potential issues within the program and develops robust and cost mitigating solutions while effectively communicate with management as required.
- Ability to manage resources to keep program on track as it relates to cost and timing
- Manages the cross functional team to ensure all facets of the program are assessed for feasibility and cost with each change
- Maintain or enhance profit margins from baseline through increased sales, budget controls and operational improvements
- Manage all Sub-Suppliers during the program launch
- Work to develop strategic vendor relationships to improve market pricing competitiveness
- Work closely with customers, vendors and trades to resolve design, fabrication and general assembly manufacturing issues
- Collaborate with Production to assist in identifying operational deficiencies to improve throughput.
- Working in conjunction with the sales team, develop strong relationships with customers to foster a true partnership that will support continued growth and achievement
- Develop and promote standardization to streamline efficiency
- Leads and promotes the job planning meetings and make recommendations for potential opportunities or risks
- Understand, promote and live by Ballance Containers philosophies and Employee Charter
- Adhere to Ballance Containers core values, integrity, respect, trust, honesty, fairness and loyalty
- Perform other duties as required
**Physical Requirements**
- Physically able to perform the essential duties of the position
- Standing or sitting for extended periods is common
- Rarely required to kneel, crouch or crawl, climb or balance
- The employee must rarely lift or move more than 10 pounds
**Working Conditions**
- The standard work week for the Program Manager is 40 hours (8 hours a day, 5 days a week). As with many careers in construction, there are peak periods that will require you to work overtime. The number of additional hours you work each week depends on the workload and schedule and will vary from one job to the next
- Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, and smoke may occur.
- As the Program Manager, you will work indoors, independently or with other construction professionals.
- Office settings are the norm for this position, utilizing telephones, computers, measuring devices, and other office equipment.
- Protective safety clothing/gear (including appropriate clothing, shoes, gloves, hardhat, and goggles) are occasionally required
- This role will engage directly with clients, but it may also interact with vendors, and other stakeholders.
- As with all careers in the construction industry, safety is the top priority
