Here's how a Contracts Manager for our Eastern Districts contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:
- Work with senior members of project teams to identify risks and opportunities and develop proactive strategies to effectively manage those risks and opportunities.
- Work with project teams to administer complex contracts, such as alternative finance and procurement projects in compliance with PCL policies and ensure timely execution.
- Work with project teams to resolve or escalate claims and disputes as required.
- Review, evaluate and assist with negotiating claims from owner, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Liaise with legal department, risk management department and executive district leadership to manage claims to reduce exposure and maximize recovery.
**Qualifications**:
- Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract delivery types
- Proven success in contract administration and claim resolution including drafting and negotiating various contracts and subcontract language to reduce exposure.
- Ability to identify opportunities and mitigate potential risks on complex construction projects.
- Experience with diverse project types, delivery and construction methods, and sequencing and timelines.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
- Effective verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills.
