With this in mind, we are currently looking for an energetic **Lab Systems Assembler **to play an important role in producing high quality medical laboratory systems and components to supply customers throughout North America. This opportunity is a **6 Month Contract **position with the potential for full time, permanent status thereafter.
**YOUR MISSION**
The Lab Systems Assembler will report to the Production Manager and perform regular and recurring assembly and fabrication duties for Medical Laboratory equipment. Product quality will be paramount to this technical position while working cross-departmentally to ensure that customer orders are processed and delivered on time.
**YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assembly of laboratory systems and components to design specifications
- Reading and following bills of materials, basic diagrams and drawings to accurately assemble components into finished products
- Use a variety of tools and equipment
- Ensure final product meets engineering specifications and quality control requirements through various means of testing
- Troubleshoot and rework non-conforming systems and/or components including soldering electrical connections
- Provide feedback and work with Engineers towards continual improvement for processes and product
- Build prototype systems
- Use of simple jigs, fixtures, and hand tools
- Assist in product quality and inventory control tasks and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
**WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?**
This role requires solid technical experience as well as the ability to work with purchasers, other systems builders, and other company colleagues at all levels. Demonstrated attention to detail and good communication skills are a must, but so are technical creativity and the ability to learn. The Lab Systems Assembler will have a ‘customer first’ attitude and be motivated to find the better way in all aspects of their duties.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- OSSD required
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in electro-mechanical field preferred
- 2-5 years practical knowledge and hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment building and testing mechanical and electrical equipment
- Small pipe and tube bending experience considered an asset
**KNOWLEDGE**
- Understanding of health and safety practices
- Proficient in the use of jigs, fixtures, and power tools
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (including Excel) and uploading files
- Familiar with working in a clean room environment and using ultrasonic cleaners
- Familiar with high pressure test gases
**SKILLS & ABILITIES**
- Able to read and interpret assembly drawing, wiring diagrams, bills of materials
- Soldering
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting methodology
- Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Attention to detail and strong reading comprehension skills
- Able to collaborate across functions and all levels of organization
