**GENERAL SUMMARY**
An Assembler is required to perform tasks involving physical labour and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Responsibilities will include the assembly of valves. The Assembler is responsible for the efficient production of products according to prescribed procedures while following all safety protocols and workplace policies.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)**:

- Read schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams
- Bolt, screw, clip, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and various other equipment
- Position and install parts, subassemblies and accessories using hand and power tools and other aids like overhead cranes
- Mark, record and report defects
- Daily inspect cranes and record on the inspection sheet
- Daily inspect tow motors, if used and record on the inspection sheet
- Clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment and tools
- Grind, scrape, sand or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines
- Update bills of materials for errors - use of additional parts, etc.
- Follow all DeZURIK safety standards
- Follow all rules and regulations included in the DeZURIK Employee Handbook
- Report any hazards, near-misses or incidents that you notice or are involved in
- Determine and discuss with supervisor any potential process improvements
- Shared responsibility for demonstrating professionalism and respect for all employees of DeZURIK
- Participate in and provide assistance with the annual physical inventory count
- Other duties as assigned

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Completion of Worker Health & Safety Awareness training
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and other technical diagrams
- Critical eye for identifying defects
- Commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to work independently to assemble valves in accordance with customer specifications
- Ability to prioritize work according to the shipment schedule
- Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to complete a job
- Ability to operate angle grinder, compressed air, sander, etc.
- If overhead crane use is required, must be certified prior to using overhead cranes
- If tow motor use is required, must be certified prior to using tow motor
- Good verbal, listening and written communication skills to effectively communicate with people at all levels of business
- Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent problem solving skills (with mínimal supervision)
- Excellent personal discipline and work ethic with respect to time and attendance
- A positive “let’s do it” attitude

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:

- Ability to lift heavy objects, may be required to move items up to 30 kgs for distances up to 3 meters
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labour
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry parts as required
- Work regularly in conditions that include noise, heat, humidity and exposure to dust
- Ability to fulfill the physical requirements per the physical demands analysis, attached

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
A fast paced manufacturing environment. Use of Personal Protective Equipment will be required (e.g. safety boots, safety glasses with side-shields, hearing protection).
