**We have position openings for our March Break Champ Camp and going into Summer Champ Camp Coach**

**Job Summary**:
As a March Break & Summer Multi-Sport Champ Camp Coach, you will be responsible for leading and instructing camp participants in various sports activities. This position requires a passion for sports, strong leadership skills, and the ability to create a fun and inclusive environment for campers to learn and grow. You will oversee daily sports sessions, organize games and drills, and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Lead Sports Sessions**: Plan and conduct engaging sports sessions for camp participants, focusing on a variety of sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, and more.
- **Instruct Techniques**: Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies for each sport, catering to participants of different skill levels and ages.
- **Organize Games and Drills**: Create and implement age-appropriate games, drills, and activities to develop participants' skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- **Provide Demonstrations**: Demonstrate proper techniques and skills to campers, offering guidance and feedback to help them improve their performance.
- **Ensure Safety**: Maintain a safe environment during all sports activities, adhering to camp safety protocols and providing supervision to prevent accidents or injuries.
- **Manage Equipment**: Manage sports equipment, ensuring it is properly maintained, organized, and available for use during sessions.
- **Promote Positive Environment**: Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where campers feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to participate and try new sports.
- **Communicate with Parents**: Communicate with parents/guardians regarding camp activities, participants' progress, and any concerns or issues that may arise.
- **Collaborate with Camp Staff**: Work collaboratively with other camp staff members to coordinate schedules, activities, and special events.
- **Role Model Behavior**: Serve as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating good sportsmanship, respect, and enthusiasm for sports and physical activity.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience coaching or working with children in a sports or camp setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge and skills in multiple sports, with the ability to teach and instruct fundamental techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate campers of all ages.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Passion for working with children and helping them develop confidence, skills, and a love for sports.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to actively participate in sports activities, including running, jumping, and demonstrating techniques.
- Stamina and endurance to engage in physical activity for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry sports equipment as needed.

**Schedule**:
This position is for an entire week from March 10-14 and have the possibility of being re-hired for the Summer Champ Camp. Hours may vary but generally between 8am-6pm.

Coaches who excel during the March Break Champ Camp may be invited to coach during our 9-week Summer Camp, offering further opportunities to grow within the Markham Sports Dome Camp Team

**Salary**: $17.50 /hour

**About Champ Camp**:
We welcome all children, ages 4-13, to our Champ Camp Our program is focused on a summer fun. We engage today’s youth by getting them moving, laughing, and making new friends. Our campers participate in both skill-development and physical play through a wide variety of sports, including: soccer, baseball, basketball, frisbee, volleyball, dodgeball, tennis, and much more We cheer them on every step of the way
- setting goals and leading them to victory. Group chants, flag making, and strategizing is a great way to make new friends. Winning isn’t everything but it’s definitely fun. Campers will be assigned to appropriate age groups (groups may vary with registration numbers).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual, Seasonal
Contract length: 5 days

Pay: From $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
