**Starting in June 17 to August 11, 2025 (8 weeks), 35 hours per week**

**Full Job Description Of Teacher’s Assistant for 2024 Summer Camp**
**Position Summary**Reporting to the Summer Camp Director, the Teacher’s Assistant will supervise a group of children or youth in a day camp setting. Teacher’s Assistant will assist in the implementation and delivery of camp activities and ensure camper safety and security throughout the day. Follow policies and procedures, while delivering camp services. Work effectively with the Summer Camp Directors, Supervisors, peers, participants and the public.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Implement daily camp activities.
- Modify camp activities to ensure campers are able to participate in programs and be fully integrated into the camp setting.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining camp equipment and assist with the delivery of equipment to sites, program assessment, awareness, and providing coaches with the tools for enhancing their programs.
- Overseeing existing lesson plans & programs and revamping old training documents.
- Ensure there are a variety of activities in the camp program.
- Ensure camp ratios are met at all times.
- Work with the Camp Volunteers to ensure they are included in the programs and have various responsibilities.
- Communicate and interact with participants and make everyone feel welcome.
- Ensure campers safety and security throughout the day.
- Complete all necessary forms (accident, incident) in a timely and accurate manner.
- Report to work promptly.
- Wear assigned uniform and name tag.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings and staff training sessions.
- Maintain excellent public relations at all time, with staff and the public.

**Administration**:

- Administrative support daily, on-site administration sign in and sign out & payroll
- Meeting with coaches to design a good programs for the camp.
- Provide coaches with the resources they need, with the ability to build documents on Microsoft office.
- Updating training, google sheets for attendance, Before camp preparation
- Assisting operations with day to day duties

**Requirements**:
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $17.20 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:
Teacher Assistant: 1 year (preferred)

**What youth participants are eligible? To be eligible, youth must**:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period*

be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment** and

have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

*The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.

**International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market.

International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.
