What you will do:
We are looking for an experienced and versatile bilingual Communications Coordinator to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications, the Communications Coordinator will play a key role in helping to drive the internal and external communication strategies across the Cineplex ecosystem of companies. This includes engaging with media and developing content to communicate across a variety of internal and external channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily media monitoring and press reports.
- Support the management of daily media and industry requests.
- Monitor analytics and create reports detailing the successes and failures of communications campaigns and strategies.
- Assist with creating and writing communications content including but not limited to press releases, media pitches, employee communications content, social media content and reports.
- Support internal initiatives that build employee culture and excitement around our consumer brands, corporate reputation and diversified business units.
- Play an active role in exploring innovative new ways to reach and engage media, industry and employees through new communications channels, strategies and content.
- Build relationships with existing and new media, keeping a pulse on key stories, trends and journalists related to relevant Cineplex industries.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Cineplex’s business units on PR campaigns, supporting key consumer and corporate initiatives and programs.
Education & Certification
- University or post-secondary education in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations.
- Fully proficient in English and French/ Bilingual language is preferred.
- Related agency experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional communications and writing ability.
- Fully proficient in English and French (reading, writing and speaking).
- Solid understanding of the media and influencer landscape.
- Familiar with communication best practices and how to communicate effectively.
- Keen eye for detail and ability to edit written copy and to spot errors.
- Strong relationship builder who is a fast learner and able to think quickly on their feet.
- Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects at once and complete by stated deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
