We are currently seeking a Full time Junior Purchaser to join our team

In this position the purchasing assistant is responsible placing and expediting PO's, managing inventory at an acceptable level and providing product information to the sales and customer service teams as required. This position works closely with all departments including distribution and accounting. Maintain and update existing flyer templates for bi-monthly marketing materials.

**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Maintain and improve relationships with suppliers and colleagues
- Issue and expedite purchase orders
- Resolve invoicing discrepancies
- Resolve supplier shipping errors
- Maintain acceptable inventory levels
- Monitors fill rates and backorders.
- Maintain system data as it relates to products and purchase orders (PO due dates, order controls, pricing, product rebates etc.)
- Works with other branches/departments to ensure information is accessible to the sales team.
- Assist with month end accounting process for purchasing/inventory related accounts.
- Do inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory.
- Other duties as assigned

**_Requirements: _**
- Previous purchasing experience in a distribution environment preferred
- Post -Secondary Education in related field
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Strong computer skills, previous ERP experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational and time management skills required
