About the Role

Steelhaus Technologies Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic entry-level professional to join the team as a Junior Purchaser. This role is responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials to meet customer order requirements, as well as maintaining inventory levels within approved guidelines.

Position Details
- Location: Steelhaus Technologies Inc. (NE Area)
- Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 AM to 5 PM

**Responsibilities**:

- Purchasing material for inventory, production, testing and prototyping to fill internal and external customer orders
- Verifying receipt of items and authorizing payments
- Providing planning and control of information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends (Material sizes, forecasting material for future orders, and machining cost)
- Negotiating with vendors to achieve best possible price, quality, and delivery
- Solving on-going issues with existing projects and prioritizing engineering requests
- Establishing and managing on-going business relationships with external suppliers
- Assisting in the preparation of estimates on new designs, materials, and threads
- Updating software with required information related to purchase orders, vendors, and materials
- Working with Quality Control (QC) and Engineering to establish supplier quality requirements
- Ensuring that manufacturing and production processes of suppliers meet international and national quality and safety standards as required
- Assisting in Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) processes where required

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Post-Secondary Education in Purchasing/Supply Chain preferred
- 1+ years of experience in a Purchaser role or similar, preferably in a manufacturing/machining environment
- Experience with ERP Systems/Business Dynamics, an asset
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Able to think quickly and handle high volumes of orders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Possesses a valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle
