**Summary** As a Facilities Manager, you will oversee all building related activities. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of the infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well functioning. **Responsibilities** - Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments. - Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations. - Manage the budget for facility maintenance and operations, including forecasting expenses, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities. - Establish and maintain effective processes and procedures to ensure the safety, security, and sustainability of the facility, including regular inspections, maintenance protocols, and emergency response plans. - Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to optimize facility management operations, including preventive maintenance schedules, emergency response plans, and vendor management protocols. - Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility-related inquiries, issues, and emergencies, providing timely and effective resolution while maintaining a focus on safety and regulatory compliance. - Ensures all site management and operations practices follow ZEST, and Ministry standards (e.g. building code, fire code, public health requirements and regulations), as required. - Maintain accurate records and documentation related to facility management activities, including work orders, contracts, and warranties. - Establish appropriate cadence (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) for site inspections and related maintenance tasks. - Directly manages Maintenance employees including recruiting, training, and evaluating performance, indirectly manages vendors and contractors. - Manage all facility maintenance programs including: HVAC, Leased and owned assets within the facility, Security cameras, alarm systems, etc.) Janitorial Services, Waste collection. - Handle insurance plans and service contracts. - Handling or contracting landscaping tasks and snow removal **Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in facility management, engineering, business administration, or a related field - Minimum of 5 years proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position - Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) is preferred. - Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices - Strong understanding of facility management principles, practices, and technologies. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with asset management databases. - Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles - *If you don't meet minimum qualifications, you may not be considered for the job"_ **Requirements**: - Vulnerable Sector Police Check - Covid-19 vaccination proof - Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels. - Excellent organizational and leadership skills - Good analytical/critical thinking skills. - Ability to read, write, speak English. **Job Type** Full-time **Salary** Starting at $80,000 **Working Conditions** - Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (8:30am - 4:30pm) - On call on weekends and holidays for emergencies - Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day. - Ability to lift up to 30lbs independently. **About Us** Zest Communities Inc., and any subsidiaries manages seniors care homes in multiple locations across Canada as well as St. Elizabeth Village, a 55+ community that brings resort-style living to Hamilton.
