As an Intake Specialist, you will be an integral part of a collaborative, team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers. This position is temporary full time for 12 months, with possibility of extension. **What you’ll be doing**:

- Verify information and confirm accommodation requests and financial information
- Follow-up with patients’ employers to confirm or resolve coverage issues as needed
- Screen referral information, consulting with Manager for complex triage
- Initiate alternate community supports and suggest other resources when appropriate
- Advise clients and callers of our admission policies and respond to inquiries and program specific questions
- Maintain and manage wait lists with respect to program, type, accommodation and cancellations
- Collaborate with Manager, admitting staff and division managers to facilitate admissions, transfers and/or manage risk issues according to policy, procedure and protocols
- Ensure pre-admission requirements as well as policies and procedures are followed
- Inform referral information to triage according to office protocols
- Collaborate with the triage committee when patient information presents as complex
- Assist Manager with Referral to Clinics and Counselling Services

**What we’re looking for**:

- Post-secondary education in Human Services, or equivalent
- 2 years prior experience with healthcare
- Mental health and/or addictions experience is an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Self-starter, critical thinker, problem solver, reliable

**Education**: Preferred
- Bachelors or better in Psychology or related field
- Bachelors or better in Health Studies or related field
