**Position Summary**:
Analyzes and summarizes detailed health benefit financial information to identify relevant trends and summarize in the form of reports, budget tracking dashboards and charts to validate claims and service invoices, report on related expenditures and identify, describe and report on areas of concern. Liaises with the Data and Analytics team to inform and provide input on Health Benefits program reporting to identify patterns of access and costs, highlight trends and variances across Health Benefits and associated funding agreements and perform impact analyses related to benefit policy changes.
**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. **Responsibilities**:

- Reports on Health Benefits claims access and expenditures, integrating data from a variety of sources to provide a complete picture of Health Benefits activities and performance, highlighting trends and identifying variances beyond expected thresholds.
- Reconciles claims and service invoices, identifies recoveries and variances, reports on related activities and expenditures, and identify, describe, and report on areas of concern between FNHA and Government partners.
- Develops and maintains forecasting methodologies and tools to track and monitor trends and flag variances for Health Benefits programs services, provides reporting to senior management, as required.
- Liaises with Finance and Health Benefit Operations teams to reconcile financial variances in Health Benefits reporting between sources by collecting and analyzing account information, including identification and monitoring of accruals, audit recoveries and other sources of discrepancy.
- Develops financial and client impact analyses resulting from proposed policy changes or updates to Health Benefits programs.

**Qualifications**:

- University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Commerce, plus 3 to 5 years of recent, relevant experience, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience with transactional-based reporting, analysis, and reconciliation, preferably in the health sector.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office productivity software.
- Experience with reporting, analysis, and visualization tools including Excel, SQL, and Tableau (or Power BI).
- Experience reconciling transactional data from different sources and with financial summaries.
- Experience monitoring service contracts, including the validation and reconciliation of invoices.
- Experience developing both detailed transactional and summary reports.
- Experience developing standard operating procedures and process documentation is an asset.
- Experience working with First Nations is an asset.

**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:

- Knowledge of current health programs and services, claims guidelines, and best practices.
- Knowledge of health related programs and services within First Nations communities is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to pay attention to details and maintain strong work ethics.
- Ability to summarize information into written documentation or briefing note format.
- Knowledge of reconciliation and contract management practices.
- Knowledge of historical and current culture of BC First Nations political structures and health environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of the FNHA Health Benefits program is an asset
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
