**Typical duties include, but are not limited to**:
Coordinate timelines for construction projects
Identify equipment, supplies and manpower needs for each project and securing them
Participate in the hiring of staff and provide input to staff performance evaluations
Training and mentorship of staff
Negotiate agreements with landowners
Coordinate the location/moving of underground facilities
Coordinate winter snowplow and sand routes
Cost tracking of equipment and project budgets
Some heavy equipment operation such as grader, backhoe, loader, plow truck, tractor trailer, packer when needed
Ensuring that Occupational Health & Safety standards are met at worksites

**Qualifications**:
Minimum Grade 12 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Supervisory experience an asset
Minimum Class 5 driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract required. Class 1 an asset
Ability to train and develop crew members
Ability to complete heavy work and physical labour duties
Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment
Ability to work up to 12-14 hours per day including some evenings and weekends
Knowledge and user of GIS, Trimble 3D, and earthworks an asset

The successful applicant will be a team player with good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. You will be a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision, provide direction and leadership to others, and be able to contribute positively to the team environment while representing the County of Grande Prairie in a professional manner.
