**What you will do**:
Reporting to the Recreation, Operations Manager your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Provide excellent customer service, professional and effective communication with the public as a representative of the City and facility - daily interaction with facility users, able to resolve customer problems with positive solutions and outcomes.
- Perform a wide range of operational, maintenance, administrative and construction activities within the Recreation Services division of the Community Services department, with occasional assistance to other departments
- Maintain arena ice conditions, operate ice resurfacer, and complete ice maintenance and repair duties
- Maintain pool water conditions, filtration systems, and perform pool maintenance duties such as vacuuming and backwashing the pool. Ensure safe pool water quality and chemistry is maintained, follow proper disinfection protocols for pool fouling occurrences, and regularly record conditions of pool equipment and water chemistry
- Maintain facilities to ensure clean, safe and sanitary spaces for day-to-day operation by cleaning and disinfecting change rooms, dressing rooms, washrooms, window cleaning, seasonal winter maintenance and ice removal, and other operational tasks as assigned.
- Perform other maintenance duties in the overall facility such as painting, replacing light bulbs, and making minor repairs
- Assist with training, orientation, and guidance of part-time Operations Associates, including delegating and assigning job duties
- Respond to on-site emergencies in accordance with policies and procedures (e.g. facility emergency response, medical emergencies, vandalism, incident and security reporting)
- Participate in special event operations and service delivery, including setting up and taking down of equipment, temporary seating, staging, installing and removing arena glass and ice surfaces, and providing basic AV support
- Maintain appropriate work records, including updating log books, incident and accidents reports, timesheets, duty sheets, and other reporting is completed as required, including compressor room readings

**What you will bring**:

- A minimum Grade 12 diploma with a minimum of six(6) months of related work experience within recreation facility operations, maintenance and associated equipment use (related work experience obtained within the last 5 years is required)
- Exceptional customer services skills with proven ability to deal cooperatively, efficiently and effectively with external and internal customers, the public, user groups, and other
