**Position Overview**:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced EAL (English as an Additional Language) Instructor/Teacher to join our team. This role involves providing English language support to students across all grade levels (K-12), working with small groups of similar abilities to offer targeted instruction aimed at meeting the general English learning needs of students and supporting their curricular work.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Deliver targeted English language instruction to students from K-12, focusing on both linguistic skills and cultural understanding.
- Assess students' English language proficiency, aligning with the Benchmarks of Alberta Education, to tailor instruction and set achievable goals.
- Provide guidance and support to students on Canadian culture, aiding their adaptation and integration.
- Maintain regular communication with parents, offering updates on students' English proficiency and assisting with inquiries about school operations.
**Qualifications**:
- A certificate in TESL, TEFL, TESOL, or equivalent is an asset.
- A degree or certificate in EAL instruction is an asset.
- A certificated Alberta Teacher registration and holding a B. Ed., is an asset.
- Proven experience teaching or instructing English as an Additional Language to children and/or adolescents across a variety of grade levels is required.
- Familiarity with the benchmarks of Alberta Education for assessing English levels is required.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong ability to connect with students and parents from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to collaborative teaching and learning, with a willingness to work closely with other educators to enhance student learning outcomes.
