Youth Support Worker

Bayfield Treatment Centre, a private agency that provides support to children, youth and young adults in a Family Based Care Home setting.
**_ The essential duties and responsibilities of a Youth Support Worker:_**
Provide guidance and mentoring in a nurturing and supportive environment for children and young people with various special needs such as FASD, DS, PTSD, ADHD, ASD and Self-harm.
Assist children, youth and young adults to reach their full potential in all aspects of their life.
Create and implement programs to increase opportunities for success in all areas of their life.
Work independently with the individuals while collaborating with the entire support team to implement individualized support plans.
All Youth Support Workers will participate in developing and implementing programs to enhance social and life skills, personal hygiene support, recreational activities and community outings while using consistent and positive behaviour management strategies.
Ensuring safety and security for the individuals on shifts.
Assisting with house tasks such as cleaning and maintenance of the home
Administration of medication and administrative duties as needed.
**_Qualifications:_**
Applicant must have **_at minimum a post-secondary Diploma or Degree_** in a related field such as **_Child and Youth Care, Behavioural Sciences, Social Service Work, or Developmental Services._**
A genuine fondness and interest in supporting children, youth and young adults to reach their potential.
Demonstrated understanding and commitment to supporting individuals from diverse cultures, experiences and backgrounds.
Must have valid Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
**A valid G-driver's license with a clean driving record and a safe/reliable vehicle with a minimum of $2 million liability insurance and willingness to transport clients in their vehicles - mileages are reimbursed for those drives.**
Clear Child Welfare Background Check.
Basic computer/technology skills for administrative data entry.
A current Broad Record Police Screening Check.
