**Job Summary** **Duties**: - Engage with children or youth in various activities to promote learning and personal development. - Educate children on important life skills, including communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution. - Develop and implement programs that cater to the interests and needs of the youth. - Monitor and assess the progress of individual children or youth providing feedback and support as necessary. - Collaborate with parents, teachers, and community organizations to ensure a holistic approach to each child's or youth's development. - Maintain a safe environment by enforcing rules and guidelines while encouraging positive behavior. - Document interactions and progress reports for each child or youth to track their development over time. **Requirements**: - Experience working with children or youth in educational or recreational settings is preferred. - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children or youth from diverse backgrounds. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Excellent computer skills - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. - Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping children or youth succeed. - Knowledge of child or youth education development principles is essential. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children or youth while fostering their growth in a supportive environment. **Mandatory** - Minimum 2 years experience as CYW - Advance knowledge and experience developing individual treatment approaches and programs. Well developed child care skills and the ability to communicate them in a variety of different work situations. Ability to interpret assessments, reports and integrate findings to develop treatment plans. i.e. Foster Plan of Cares If successful must provide a valid full "G" Class Ontario drivers license and have own reliable transportation - Standard First Aid/C.P.R. Level C - Child and Youth Worker Degree or Diploma - Vulnerable Sector Check - Child Wefare Safety Check - Health assessment **Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract Contract length: 6 months Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week Schedule: - Monday to Friday - Weekends as needed Licence/Certification: - First Aid Certification (preferred) Work Location: In person Expected start date: 2024-10-14
