Child and Youth Worker

We are looking for part-time employees:

  • To work as Staff in Residential group home

-Weekend shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Provide care and support to youth in a residential setting

  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for youth

  • Create a safe and nurturing environment for youth

  • Implement and facilitate recreational activities and educational programs

  • Monitor and document the progress and behavior of youth

  • Collaborate with other staff members to develop and implement individualized care plans

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with youth, their families, and other staff members

  • Ability to handle challenging behaviors with patience and empathy

  • Excellent organizational skills, communication skills both oral and written and computer literacy

Qualifications

* Completion of post-secondary education in a related field (Child Youth Worker, Social Service Worker)

* Understanding of working within a framework of diversity, equity and inclusion

*Knowledge of The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, Child, Youth and Family Service Act guidelines, policies and procedures.

*First Aid and CPR

*Valid G license

* Vulnerable Sector Clearance

* Board Record Check

* UMAB

* Trauma Informed is an added advantage.
