**Job Title**: Technical Analyst - POS **Location": Calgary, AB (100% ONSITE)** **Role Summary**: The Technical Analyst for POS is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, support, and optimization of Point of Sale systems. This role involves analyzing system performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless operation of POS solutions across locations. **Key Responsibilities**: - System Support - Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve POS system issues to minimize downtime. - Provide technical support to end-users, including store employees and managers. - Escalate and coordinate unresolved issues with vendors or internal IT teams. - **Configuration & Maintenance**: - Install, configure, and update POS hardware and software. - Manage system patches, firmware updates, and ensure security compliance. - **Analysis & Optimization**: - Analyze system performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. - Develop and implement best practices to optimize POS system efficiency. - **Collaboration**: - Work with internal teams (e.g., IT, Operations, and Finance) to integrate POS systems with other business tools (inventory, ERP, CRM). - Partner with vendors to manage hardware/software warranties and service agreements. - **Documentation & Training**: - Create and maintain technical documentation for POS systems and processes. - Train store personnel on proper use and troubleshooting of POS systems. - **Project Management**: - Lead or assist in the deployment of new POS systems or enhancements. - Coordinate system rollouts and upgrades, ensuring mínimal disruption to business operations. **Qualifications**: - **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred). - **Experience**: - 2-4 years of experience in POS system management or IT support. - Familiarity with retail or hospitality POS systems (e.g., NCR, Oracle Micros, Toast, or Square). - **Skills**: - Strong knowledge of POS hardware (e.g., terminals, scanners, printers) and software. - Proficiency in troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and network connectivity. - Familiarity with payment processing systems and PCI compliance. - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. **Soft Skills**: - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. - Strong attention to detail. - Team player with good interpersonal skills.
