The Opportunity
We are looking for an exceptional Human Resources (HR) Generalist to be a part of our growing team Reporting to and working collaboratively with the Director of Human Resources, this role provides support for a variety of areas within the HR portfolio including but not limited to: recruitment, onboarding, job analysis, maintenance of the HRIS system, data and analytics, performance management, and learning. The opportunity is located at our head office in Edmonton, AB. The role is permanent full-time, 37.5 hours per week scheduled Monday to Friday.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Recruitment and Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and extending offers.
- Coordinate and conduct onboarding activities to ensure a smooth integration of new hires into the organization.

2. Employee Relations
- Act as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee concerns.
- Foster a positive work environment.
- Promote employee engagement initiatives to improve satisfaction and retention.

3. Compliance and Policy Administration
- Ensure the organization complies with provincial and federal labor laws and regulations.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining HR policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure proper documentation and adherence to compliance standards.

**4. Performance Management**:

- Assist in the design and implementation of performance management systems, including setting KPIs.

5. Training and Development
- Assist in the development and delivery of training programs to support employee skill-building and professional growth.
- Support in the development for leadership development and succession planning.

**6. Data and Reporting**:

- Maintain and update employee records in HR systems and databases.
- Generate and analyze HR reports to identify trends and recommend action plans.
- Monitor HR metrics, such as turnover rates and employee satisfaction, to inform decision-making.

**7. Compensation and Benefits**:

- Support payroll processing and manage employee benefits programs.
- Conduct benchmarking to ensure competitive compensation packages.

**8. Other Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to strategic HR projects and initiatives as required.
- Support OH&S with polices regulations and training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Completion of post-secondary program in Human Resources with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience.
- Suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce HCM system is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and delivering human resource best practices to a broad range of employees.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Ability to deal with people confidentially, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Working toward a designation as a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR).
- Experience in OH&S is an asset.
