**POSITION OVERVIEW**

This position will implement quality assurance procedures to assure conformance of incoming ingredients, materials and finished products to established specifications and quality standards.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES**

**Batch Testing**:

- Responsible for organizing, testing, modifying, re-sampling and releasing all aseptic juice batches.
- Must be proficient at setting up, calibrating and performing tests;
- Test Brix, pH, Acidity, Vitamin C, sensory evaluations, and any other tests as required.

**Analytical Testing**:

- Responsible for organizing and testing all aseptic final product.
- Must be proficient at setting up, calibrating and performing tests;
**Micro**:

- Assist with micro testing, pH testing and plating when required.
- Read all plates and fill in the micro record for manager’s signature. If out of specification, then report to Head of QC.
- Collect, pack and send samples to outside lab as per requirement.
- Environmental testing.

**Line Tests**:

- Package integrity evaluation.
- Case inspection, case code inspection.
- Peroxide test.
- Line start up checks.
- Line weight checks.
- Pasteurizer checks.

**Environmental Testing**:

- Perform in-house Environmental Air testing, in-house Environmental Aerobic swabbing, in-house water testing.

**Education and Experience**
- Post-secondary education required. Bachelor’s degree in a Food Science related field is preferred.
- 1-3 years’ experience in the Food Industry.
- Knowledge of health and safety system.
- Familiarity with CFIA/FSEP audit system and FSSC 22000 will be preferred, but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Required experience:

- Food Manufacturing Industry: 2 years
- Quality Control: 2 years
- Essential_
- Legally permitted to work full-time in Canada.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar industry.
- Ability to work morning, afternoon, or overnight shift.
