Remote, Contract work, 0-20 hours/week Pay**:$150 - $300 per day** Application deadline: February 15, 2025 The Get REAL Movement is a Canadian non-profit focused on combatting 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination, racism, and bullying in schools, summer camps, and workplaces. We accomplish this by offering a variety of different educational Workshop modules, and by providing leadership development and marginalized youth support through our University Chapters, our High School After-School Program, our 2SLGBTQ+ Virtual Counselling Program, and our Summits. Our programming aims to break down prejudice, promote unity, and foster compassion in our world. We are looking for engaging speakers to join our Combatting Anti-Black Racism Workshop speaking team. You will be working alongside a “Team Lead" speaker to deliver one hour workshops to students in schools across the Greater Toronto area. Our workshops draw on a mixture of personal experience, participant engagement and factual evidence to educate students on anti-Black racism, micro-aggressions, racial barriers, and how to be an ally. If you’re looking for a flexible job that fits around your schedule, allows you to connect with other like-minded people, and see a meaningful impact on students across Canada, this might be the role for you Please note: This job does require speakers to share their personal experiences in a story-telling format, which can be emotionally taxing. You have the support of your fellow speakers and managers, but please gauge your emotional readiness before applying. **Responsibilities**: - Co-facilitate workshops in schools across Canada about Combatting Anti-Black Racism and being an ally - Memorize lines from a script and present them in an engaging manner - Show up on time to workshops looking professional and prepared to present - Speak authentically to your own experiences as a Black individual to educate and connect with participants - Answer student questions during the workshop and potentially navigate difficult and/or personal conversations Qualifications: - Lived experience navigating Combatting Anti-Black Racism - Basic understanding of intersectionality, privilege and oppression and knowledge of the Black community - Flexible schedule with the ability to work during school hours, 8-4pm - Possibility of early morning and evening hours - Experience public speaking an asset - Comfortable in front of groups of people - G Level Drivers License is an asset **Job Types**: Part-time, Freelance Pay: $150.00-$300.00 per day Schedule: - Day shift Work Location: In person
