Pacific Specialty Brands is the leading Wholesale Appliance Distributor of high end European and North American Household Appliances, located in South Burnaby. We operate two companies from our office; a Canadian company that covers all of Canada, as well as a US company covering the Pacific Northwest to California and expanding. We are seeking an individual to work in a newly developed Junior Operations Assistant/Maintenance position. The individual we are seeking is described as a friendly with a good sense of humor and positive outlook, who is willing to help out wherever needed. You are a motivated hard worker, with mechanical skills and are a practical thinker. Knowledge of electrical and basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a bonus for this position.

The position is available to start immediately if possible and is an entry level position.

The primary duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following (and could change):

- Work in conjunction with the Senior Operations Assistant as instructed
- Assist with maintenance on property as needed, disposing of garbage, cleanup etc
- Scrapping of appliances, logging reclaimed parts and moving to parts stock
- Moving large appliances around in service and showroom areas
- Repacking of appliances and wrapping up for clearance center sales
- Do minor repairs on inbound damaged stock (as taught)
- Intake of damaged/returned appliances
- Ensuring all work areas are kept tidy and in order
- Assist the parts department as needed in receiving and stocking of parts
- Assist service technicians as needed
- Class 5 driver’s license and clean driving abstract
- Proficient in the use of all tools
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Able to lift upwards to 200 lbs
- The ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment
- Excellent problem solving skills, initiative and work commitment
- Ability to understand and prioritize workload, and follow instructions as given
- Willingness to study and learn about our products and business
- Superior command of the English language

This is a full-time salaried position with paid vacation time after your first year. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 4:30. Salary to be determined based on experience
