**What We Will Ask of You**: As a key member of our Behavioural Consultation Services team, our Behaviour Consultant plays an important role. On most days, you’ll be providing evidence-based behavioural services to empower individuals, caregivers, and partner agencies within the Peterborough, Haliburton,
Kawartha Pine Ridge and Northumberland area. You will be responsible for the assessment of the goals as identified by those on your caseload, and for designing and monitoring your implemented behaviour intervention plans to ensure desired treatment outcomes are achieved based on those goals. Goal areas typically involve skill acquisition and reduction of potentially dangerous behaviours, such as aggression and self-injury. The Behaviour Consultant collaborates with the Clinical Supervisors and Program Manager to ensure that best practices are followed and quality service is delivered while enhancing the overall quality of life and independence for individuals accessing services.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Provide advanced behavioural services and training using Applied Behaviour Analysis within a biopsychosocial framework to individuals, families, service agencies and other settings as requested.
- Complete functional behaviour assessments, individualized skill assessments, and development of function-based treatment packages/ intervention plans.
- Writing clinical reports outlining assessment-based treatment plans.
- Providing direct service and mediator training to implement and monitor the use of the strategies as outlined in the intervention plans.
- Graphing and analyzing data related to the goals and training objectives.
- Develop and facilitate training programs for service users, mediators, and group teaching as required.
- Communicate agency purpose, behavioural consultation service programming to stakeholders as needed.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor Degree in Psychology or Behavioural Science or equivalent.
- Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)/Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) qualifications or ability to obtain BCBA/BCaBA qualifications is an asset.
- 5+ years’ experience using Applied Behaviour Analysis in clinical settings.
- Experience in providing behavioural consultation services to diverse populations is an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to assess clients with complex needs and make evidence-based recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience of using best practice in supporting service users.
- Clinical experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities and/or dual diagnoses.
- Case management experience.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of various developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses.
- Strong attention to detail, well organized with an excellent ability to prioritize, multi-task and take initiative.
- Ability to schedule work hours outside of regular agency hours of 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday as needed based on current caseload.
- Ability to maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and other stakeholders.
- Computer proficiency and excellent communication skills.
- Compassionate and responsible supporter of people, their families, and community partners.
- Commitment to maximize resources and improve people’s quality of life.
- A valid driver’s license and insurance, access to a reliable vehicle and ability to drive in various weather conditions.
