ROLE PURPOSE
This position will oversee the planning, development, implementation, and the day-to-day operation of Connective’s Vancouver Community Services Office.
STATUS AND CLASSIFICATION
Unionized. This position is open to applicants of all genders.
HOURS (40 Hours Per Week)
Monday to Friday, 0900 - 1700

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plans and implements programs and services that are informed by and support individual and community needs, including special events
- Formulates program policies and procedures and evaluates the program in consultation with the supervisor
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Community Services Office by ensuring that the necessary facilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to, and program standards are met
- Recruits, trains, mentors, and supports volunteers and practicum students
- Schedules program volunteers and practicum students in accordance to program needs.
- Responsible for budget management and financial expenditures as delegated by the manager.
- Ensures accurate and complete program records and statistics are maintained, required reports are submitted.
- Maintains confidentiality of all service user and organizational information, in line with organization policy.
- Promotes public awareness of and support for the program by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events
- Ensures that service delivery standards, guidelines, and policies of the agency are maintained and that operating requirements are met.
- Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals, and represent the organization or program in external events.
- Models effective interactions with service users, including positive rapport building and service delivery.
- Provides on-call support as required for building rentals.
- Travels to other program sites as deemed necessary.
- Completes other duties as assigned by the Program Manager or their delegate, related to the program.

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Follows guidelines as outlined by the Connective Policies and Procedures
- Transports self, service users, and/or volunteers with a reliable vehicle throughout the Metro Vancouver areas including remote correctional facilities as needed
- Works 40 hours per week with time apportioned through days, evenings and weekends as necessary to meet the program and client needs
- Is a member of CUPE Local 1936-11
- Receives benefits and work within the conditions as outlined in the collective agreement and the personnel policies

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- A university Degree in a relevant branch of the Behavioural Sciences with an emphasis on Social Work, Sociology, and/or Psychology
- Direct and extensive experience, a minimum of 3 years, in the delivery of supports and services in a correctional and/or community-based setting, and specifically relating to the community social services sector
- Ability to engage compassionately and respectfully with individuals who are unhoused, use substances, live with mental health concerns, have cognitive disabilities, who are involved in the criminal justice system, and/or who are facing other barriers
- Demonstrated competence in identifying, approaching and securing both short
- and long-term funding from appropriate sources
- Extensive knowledge of government and community social service programs
- Strong de-escalation skills and a demonstrated ability to work with people in crisis.
- Experience recruiting, screening, training, and supporting volunteers and practicum students
- Experience in and comfort with public speaking
- Knowledge of word processing
- Excellent written, verbal, interviewing and assessment skills
- Experience with developing and/or facilitating programs

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check and Security Clearance
- Ability to successfully pass a reference check
- Current Emergency First Aid
