**ROLE TITLE**:Finance & Accounting Analyst**

**DEPARTMENT**:Finance**

**REPORTS TO**:Manager, Accounting & Finance Reporting**

The Finance & Accounting Analyst plays a critical role in the Finance Team supporting the management and execution of month-end processes, analyses, and reporting. Additionally, this role will play a crucial role ensuring audit readiness and execution. Other responsibilities range from selected electronic banking transactions, Fixed Asset accounting oversight, project support, to ad hoc analyses as needed.

**Responsibilities**:

- Key participation in month/quarter/year end preparation and close processes including, but not limited to:

- Proactive preparation for period closing, prioritizing tasks and coordinating with finance and cross functional team members
- Preparation and posting of applicable journal entries
- Active participation in period end data loads, allocations and reporting processes; coordination and collaboration with direct and corporate team members
- Timely completion of performance and supporting variance analyses
- Execution of ongoing accounting and finance processes, often involving significant overlap with period end processes, potentially including but not limited to:

- Banking activities
- Foreign currency transactions and supporting analyses
- Fixed asset monitoring; Capital spend tracking
- Limited payroll accounting
- Ad hoc analysis, issue identification, root cause analysis, resolution
- Reporting for Statistics Canada, and any other similar reporting requirements
- Provision of finance support to cross functional departments, including any collection, verification and analysis of financial and/or related information needed to provide decision support to site management
- Assist and participate in maintenance of required control environment including:

- Assuring compliance with controls
- Identifying potential areas of control weakness
- Assist in coordination and conduct of internal and external audits
- Preparation of relevant working papers
- Promote a philosophy & practice of continuous improvement within the Finance department
- Active participation in departmental and site projects/initiatives

**Education and Experience**:

- Enrollment in CPA program is an asset; completion of CPA program preferred
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP, SAP preferred; Excellent MS Office, particularly Excel, skills required
