Bike Victoria Society, also known as Capital Bike, is a Registered Charity dedicated to increasing cycling participation in the Capital Region. Our mission is to promote healthier, happier communities by advocating for safe all ages and abilities active transportation infrastructure, and by encouraging more people to bike more often through engaging events and educational programs.
**Summary**
We are seeking a passionate and organized Event Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various events aimed at promoting cycling within the community. Your contributions will be vital in helping us achieve our mission of fostering a bike-friendly environment.
**The Event Manager’s Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)**:
- Cultivate corporate and community sponsorships and partnerships,
- Solicit in-kind donations for prizes and food ($35,000+ annually),
- Plan, organize and prepare complete event logistics and marketing plans,
- Publicize events with Media and Marketing strategies and materials,
- Generate and manage content for newsletters, the website and social media,
- Manage transportation plan for GBBW,
- Support participants in all aspect of their participation,
- Recruit, organize, and recognize volunteers,
- Track key event metrics, and
- Produce wrap-up reports for funders and partners.
**The Event Coordinator shall have the following Qualifications and Experience**:
- Minimum of 2-years of event planning experience required,
- Proven experience securing funding, sponsorships and grants,
- Experience creating and reviewing promotional/marketing materials,
- Able to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines,
- Must be organized, great attention to detail, and tracking deliverables and metrics,
- Excellent verbal communication; clear, concise, and persuasive written communication,
- Familiar with website management, social media platforms, and desktop publishing tools,
- Flexibility, interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm,
- Supervisory experience of volunteers and staff, and
- Valid BC Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract

- Valid CPR/First Aid certificate, and

Pay: $45,500.00-$50,960.00 per year
