**Summary**

The Junior Logistics Coordinator will be an important member of the Operations team at Swegon North America performing shipping, transportation, and logistics functions based out of our office in Ajax, Ontario.

The Junior Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the effective processing and controlling of Inbound/Outbound shipments and transportation needs for the Company. This position reports to the Purchasing and Logistics Manager.

**Responsibilities**
- Coordinate all outbound shipments for the plant and office while completing all required customs paperwork to ensure uninterrupted shipments across North America, including preparing documentation, arranging shipments, coordinating with carriers, and monitoring delivery schedules to meet customer requirements
- Assist with weekly OS&D review meetings with the carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL and develop action plans to mitigate risks
- Manage outbound and inbound sub-contractor jobs whether including direct shipments to customer sites.
- Manage the inbound/outbound shipment schedule
- Regular follow-up with the carriers to ensure timely arrangements for pick-up and delivery
- Coordinate shipments between plants
- Provide weekly/monthly analytics across all aspects of transportation and warehousing allowing for quick decision-making to drive results
- Prepare reports and provide regular updates to management regarding shipment status, performance metrics, and any issues or delays encountered.
- Keeping up-to-date with import/export logistics processes and documentation requirements in trade and supply chain processes
- Assist the marketing department with trade show shipments and paperwork
- Processing and managing small parcel and warranty shipments
- Provide freight quotes to different business units and manage the freight quote tools
- Tracking of international shipments including containers and air freight
- Manage day-to-day inquiries with internal and external customers
- Files and manages all carrier claims in cooperation with the respective Project Manager
- Assists Plant Managers with claims prevention processes and packaging development
- Primary Customs Broker interface answering questions to ensure Company compliance with Customs regulations and minimize border crossing delays (HS Code, COO, and USMCA knowledge)
- Monitors, resolves, and escalates variance between estimated and actual freight charges
- Assists in the preparation of RFP for annual or multi-year service award of lanes to carriers or 3PL
- Assists Plant Managers in securing short-term storage requirements
- Assists in the resolution of freight bill audits and discrepancies
- Process shipping and receiving reports at assigned locations by entering data into spreadsheets and electronic databases
- Analyzes shipping and freight-related processes for compliance and improvement and makes recommendations
- Other responsibilities as required or assigned

**Qualifications**
- Diploma in Supply Chain or Logistics
- Knowledge of cross-border transactions (Ocean, Trucking, and Customs Clearance)
- Minimum 2 years related experience in transportation and 3PL environment
- Minimum 1-2 years of working with an ERP system
- Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to deal with and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to problem solve
- Knowledge of general geography is an asset
