**Job Summary**
Swegon North America is recruiting a **Purchasing and Logistics Manager** to join our Operations team based in Ajax, ON. The incumbent should have at least 5-7 years of supply chain and logistics experience, demonstrated team leadership, working collaboratively with a cross functional team and enjoy the challenge of a fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead overall Supply Chain and Logistics group for Swegon North America production facilities.
- Manage all procurement activities: Develop and implement procurement strategies, the manager is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that ensure the company obtains quality goods and services at the best possible prices.
- Manage inventory: The manager must monitor inventory levels to ensure that the company has the right amount of goods on hand to meet customer demand while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
- Manage logistics and transportation: The manager is responsible for managing the logistics and transportation of goods, including coordinating shipments, managing warehouse operations, and overseeing the distribution of goods to customers including organization of transportation, and cross-dock operations in three plants, as well as subcontractors across Canada, USA, and off-shore suppliers.
- Provides leadership to purchasing and logistics departments to ensure on-time delivery of all purchased materials and services.
- Reviews reports daily regarding demand/supply relationships to avoid material shortages, past due supplier deliveries.
- Develops, mentors and trains all purchasing and logistics personnel.
- Frequent interaction with Plant Leadership teams to assess and respond to urgent requirements.
- Develops new sources of supply and maintains a good working relationship with existing suppliers.
- Follows finance policies for purchasing and inventory management.
- Assessment of KPI’s such as DOI, OTD, supplier OTD, Non-conformance reports are regularly monitored, and corrective actions put in place.
- Ensures ERP system purchasing parameters for are regularly assessed and updated as needed.
- Creates or modifies SOP’s for Purchasing as per the current practice or improvements.
- Keeps up to date of market trends, specifically metal pricing, and any other market issues that will affect cost and delivery constraints.
- Assists in root cause analysis for supply chain issues/variances and implement corrective/preventative actions.
- Vendor approvals and set ups - Work with engineering/quality/finance and set up new vendors.
- Develops and issues RFQ packages, negotiate terms & conditions for vendors.
- Invoice approvals - Works with accounting, plant management, logistics, and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Reviews and approves annual updates for product standard costing.
- Provide estimates, and tools to various stakeholders related to freight.
- Manage, review, and approve all purchasing and freight invoices.
- Assist in the building and development of a network of local carriers.
- Ensure compliance with provincial, state, federal laws, cross-border regulations, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Corporate logistics organization and other regions to ensure harmony consistency across the organization.
- Work with required stakeholders to review, update and maintain policies, procedures, and work instructions related to Logistics.
- Other duties as required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to loud noise, forklift traffic.
- Combination of plant floor and office work
- Travel may be required to other plants located in the USA. Valid passport required.
- Personal vehicle is required as the role will occasionally require visiting local vendors.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- University degree or College Diploma with two (2) years of specialized training (CPSM, CSCP, PMAC, APICS, CLP, CTL, or related work experience)
- Five to seven years of experience in Supply Chain and logistics, two (2) in which must be in a leadership capacity.
