Joe Bird, one of Toronto’s Best Casual restaurants located in the Harbourfront area is looking for hosts to join our growing team with unparalleled commitment to superb customer service and quality food and drinks.

For us, that staff is the most important element for our success, and we are in the process of growing our company, so many more opportunities will open.

One of our priorities is to be an organized and systematic restaurant to have a smooth and efficient operation.

Essential Duties
- Takes reservations for lunch and dinner.
- Manage waitlist.
- Answer phone calls following manager instructions
- Plans and organizes reservations on restaurant seating chart with manager.
- Greets guests as they enter the restaurant.
- Seats guests in an open section or at a reserved table.
- Provides guests with menus and ensures they are seated comfortably.
- Assigns guests evenly across different server's sections in the restaurant.
- Thanks guests for dining at the restaurant when they leave.
- Cleaning and resetting of tables.
- Sale of items at host stand.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Host/Hostess)
- Flexible schedule (mainly weekends)
- Experience with open table software is a big asset.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and customer services skills.
- Pays close attention to detail.
- Exhibits excellent organizational skills.
- Maintains professional but friendly demeanor.
- Is capable of remaining patient and polite when speaking to frustrated guests.
- Demonstrates ability to read and interpret restaurant’s seating chart.
- Works well with a team.
- Communicates clearly and effectively with customers and staff members.
- Experience handling cash and retail preferred.
- This position requires it to be performed on the patio, which means being outside and with some sun exposure.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour
