We are a dynamic, energetic, and growing organization within the finance sector. To support the growing business demands of our accounts receivable division we are looking for a Collection Agent who can implement an organized and effective pre-collections approach. Your primary objective is to maximize returns and maintain customer satisfaction with a goal of customer retention.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Make outbound and receive inbound calls, assess and resolve early and late-stage accounts
- Persuade customers for payments
- Ability to de-escalate situations with customers and strive for one-call resolution
- Communicate with leadership about unresolved or escalated accounts
- Consistent follow-up with customers to ensure payment plans are adhered to.
- Develop a strong rapport while connecting with our customers ensuring payment plans
- Work with collection agency, assign accounts to collections company and follow-up on the assigned accounts

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum 3 years of Collections experience or combination of education and industry experience; subprime funding segment is preferred
- Proficiency with client maintenance software, collections software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to prepare complex documentation, update CRM systems, and maintain customer records
- Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence in problem solving, negotiating and decision making
- Experience working in a call centre environment is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to $50,000.00 per year
