The Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for travelling to various client sites to provide complete, thorough, and professional health, safety and environmental recommendations; for promoting a positive safety culture and for anticipating and assessing health and safety hazards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with and ensuring compliance to policies & processes and always acting in a safe manner.
- Adhere to all applicable company, customer and legislative codes, regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Promote a positive safety culture through company values
- Conduct health and safety inspections, observations, audits, compliance monitoring and investigations on various client sites.
- Assist in the development and delivery of safety meetings and pre and post shift meetings.
- Assist in the development of procedures and hazard assessments.
- Assist in the development and delivery of internal and external training.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and recommendation for maintaining workplace health & safety compliance.
- Coaching management and supervisory teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance.
- Foster and maintain client relationships.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as safety advisor with a minimum of 5-years’ experience in an industrial setting.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation.
- Experience in writing reports such as (but not limited to) Incident investigations.
- Experience in writing policies, procedures, and safety plans.
- NCSO designation required, in conjunction with valid H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection certification.
- Occupational Health and Safety Certification/Diploma considered an asset.
- Clean class 5 driver's license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing and able to travel for extended periods and the ability to work 10-12-hour shifts (including nights, weekends and out of town).
- Ability to access Client sites which may require clearance of a drug and alcohol screen, Covid-19 rapid antigen test and/or proof of vaccination.

- Day shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
