**Regional Manager - Camp and Extracurricular programs**
**Position Summary**
In the role of Regional Manager, you will assume a critical responsibility in the overall success of our organization’s day camps. Your primary focus will be overseeing the management and operations of multiple campsites. This dynamic position demands a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills, a commitment to team development and an extensive knowledge of camp operations, both on and off season. As the Regional Manager, your key duties will include creating and overseeing camp programs and curriculum, training, managing and mentoring seasonal and part-time staff, designing and implementing training programs, conducting interviews, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality programs across designated locations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Off Season (mid September - May) ~ hybrid _
- Oversee the creation and quality of camp programming (Junior, Youth, Leadership, Curriculum based Programs and Special guest speakers)
- Ensure the adaptations in curriculum for different ages and levels.
- Develop comprehensive management training programs.
- Continuously update and enhance training materials to align with industry best practices.
- Create and maintain a master staff list for all locations.
- Add new staff members to communication platforms such as Slack.
- Set roles and expectations for Location Managers and their management teams.
- Conduct Manager Meetings and Workshops to align objectives and expectations.
- Implement new innovative childcare programs
- Continuously improve the quality and delivery of all Laurus programs.
- Ensure Laurus programs remain competitive and superior to other organizations.
- Implement strategies to enhance the organization's market position.
- Ensure training and execution of programmed curriculum.
- Assist the HR department in the recruitment process for operational staff.
- Coordinate with the Heads of; Camp Operations, Customer Support, HR, and Marketing to communicate clear goals to Location Managers.
- Act as the main point of contact between locations and the Camp Director
- Develop and implement crisis management protocols.
- Train, integrate, and manage contractual staff members across assigned locations.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Assist the HR department in different recruitment events and job fairs.
- Plan and Coordinate the annual Camp Retreat event.
- On Season (June - mid September + March Break) ~ in office and on-site _
- Support assigned camp locations by providing coaching, mentorship, guidance and instructions to Location Managers.
- Weekly in person check-ins at assigned locations to ensure high quality camp services in line with company’s standards and address any challenges.
- Effectively address and resolve escalated issues that arise across assigned locations (Staff, parents, children, school, etc.)
- Conduct weekly Location Manager Meetings for updates, feedback, and planning.
- Manage Location Managers and HR processes.
- Utilize Agendrix for staff scheduling and approve worked hours, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
- Conduct management evaluations and enforce disciplinary measures when necessary.
- Complete weekly paperwork for assigned locations (KPIs, insights into the week, strengths, areas of improvements, suggestions for next season, etc.)
**Qualifications**
- Minimum of five (5) years in camp programming and staff management.
- Minimum of six (6) years in childcare.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and crisis management skills.
- Strong familiarity with the camp and educational program industry is required.
- Proven experience in multi-location management is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, DEC in CRLT, or a related field.
