POSITION OVERVIEW
The Regional Manager, Partnerships designs, coordinates and implements partnership strategies for a designated region, to assist BDC leaders in achieving their business objectives. He or she acts as a liaison between the region and all lines of business, as well as corporate, in the implementation of corporate and regional strategies to build sales and support regional economic development priorities in line with BDC priorities. The Regional Manager, Partnerships will also implement partnership strategies aligned to corporate priorities including financial and digital partners, diversity and the sustainability strategy. The Regional Manager, Partnerships represents BDC with stakeholders and partners within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including provincial government relations and regional economic development agencies.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET- Become the resident expert on partners in the regional entrepreneurship ecosystem.- Develop the regional strategic and tactical plan from a partnership standpoint in line with regional priorities.- Develop new partnership channels in support of regional economic development priorities, including representing BDC with senior provincial government officials and coordinating BDC participation in key federal government programs to collaborate on the advancement of regional and /or national economic development priorities.- Develop new partnership channels in support of corporate priorities.- Develop partnership agreements outlining KPIs and the terms of collaboration with a partner.- Assist the Senior Vice President, Financing and Consulting and other lines of business’s leaders in the region in managing relationships, and negotiating partnership agreements with key stakeholders and partners to support corporate objectives.- Develop alternative or new partnership channels that will lead to referrals to the branch network and eventually result in client acquisitions.- Support BDC in connecting entrepreneurs to large corporate organizations as part of the supply chain.- Be the point of contact for partnerships in the region, and share best practices and market intelligence with Head Office and other regions to ensure alignment.- Develop and maintain relationships with partners and regional stakeholders, and represent BDC as required, in accordance with the policies, corporate directives and procedures in place.- Promote, collect and be accountable, when applicable, for partnership data, metrics and referral sources, to measure and evaluate the impact of such partnerships and relationships.- Collect, analyze and report market intelligence related to partners and stakeholders across business lines.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science or a related field. Master’s degree, an asset.- Minimum of eight to ten years of experience in the financial sector or related sector and stakeholder management.- Experience in developing business relationships and leveraging strategic partnerships, a strong asset.- A good level of knowledge and understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.- Excellent track record for building positive and long-term relationships with key influencers, as well as networks with business partners.- Strong knowledge of provincial government and regional economic development agencies, an asset.- Strong leadership, presentation and negotiation skills.- Strong alliance and partnership management skills.- Ability to work with mínimal supervision in an unstructured environment.- Bilingualism (written & oral) in French and English is required.
