**Role Summary**
As the Coordinator, Mobile Education, you will coordinate and deliver engaging, impactful ocean conservation education programs, primarily through the Ocean Wise Sea Dome and community outreach events. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of mobile education tours across British Columbia and beyond, inspiring students and communities to take meaningful action for the ocean. You will also play a key role in planning, designing, and administering these programs, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Ocean Wise’s goals. In addition to your Mobile Education priorities, you will support the delivery of Ocean Wise’s other Youth & Education programs as required, including the Ocean Action Grant and Youth program activities.

You are a strong public speaker with demonstrated experience engaging diverse audiences through educational and interpretive delivery/programming.
**What You Will Be Doing**
**Program Delivery**
- Travelling with Ocean Wise Sea Dome throughout British Columbia and other locations as required, delivering educational programs that inspire conservation actions.
- Facilitating in-person and online educational sessions, maintaining strong engagement with diverse audiences.
- Adhering to and enforcing safety and risk management protocols for all programming.
- Acting as the program lead in the absence of the Mobile Programs Manager.
**Program Coordination and Development**
- Coordinating communication and logistics for program bookings, including liaising with schools, civic centres, event organizers, and other community stakeholders.
- Contributing to program design, tailoring content to meet the needs of different audiences and groups.
- Evaluating programs to ensure continuous improvement and relevance.
**Administrative Support**
- Maintaining accurate records of program bookings, feedback and key performance indicators.
- Updating program-related materials, including internal databases, promotional content, and educational resources.
- Assisting with marketing and promotion of the Sea Dome and other mobile education initiatives.
**Operational Oversight**
- Monitoring and maintaining the Sea Dome’s systems, vehicles, and associated equipment.
- Acting as a backup for the Manager in their absence.
- Supporting efforts to reduce the environmental impact of mobile programming.
**What You Bring**
- Strong communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in education, interpretive deliver, or related fields.
- Effective teamwork and demonstrated leadership/supervisor abilities, especially in small, collaborative settings.
- Hands-on experience delivering innovative educational programs for youth.
- Organizational skills, with a knack for multitasking and problem-solving.
- Technical aptitude for vehicle operation and mechanical systems (training provided).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other administrative tools.
- Valid BC driver’s license and comfort driving fleet vehicles (minivan, pickup truck with trailer, electric vehicle) required.
- Standard First Aid required (can be obtained after employment).
- Knowledge of experiential and environmental education best practices, social justice concepts, marine ecosystems and ocean conservation issues/solutions.
- Assets include:
- Coding and/or programming proficiency.
- French language proficiency, including the ability to deliver programs in French.
**How You Will Be Measured**
- Ability to deliver engaging and impactful education programs, reflected in participant feedback and program evaluations.
- Ability to efficiently coordinate Sea Dome tours, ensuring seamless logistics and positive relationships with partners.
- Successful achievement of program goals and objectives, including participant reach, knowledge acquisition, and intent for behaviour change.
- Ability to maintain high safety standards and operational readiness for the Sea Dome, vehicles, and materials.
- Continuously working to enhance program content to align with Ocean Wise’s mission and goals.
**What We Offer**
This full-time, benefits-eligible position offers:
- A hybrid working environment that involves a mix of on-site, team-based working environment with communities and schools, as well as remotely with the option to work in office at our beautiful downtown Vancouver head-office on non-programming days.
- A competitive base salary, $46,800 - 48,600, in line with market data for not-for-profit organizations
