**Company Biography**
The County of Lambton is an urban-rural area in southwestern Ontario that is home to over 126,000 residents. The Corporation's seven divisions operate programs and services for the residents of Lambton County such as land ambulance, provincial offences court, three Long-Term Care Homes, 25 library branches, two museums, an art gallery, archives, local roadways, public health services, housing services, social services, building services and planning and development services. **Position Summary**
Participate in the planning, implementation and analysis of policy, programs and operational initiatives along with supporting staff development. Operate in accordance with the mandate of the Ontario Works Act, Child Care and Early Years Act, Housing Services Act, Ontario Disability Support Program Act and other related legislation and mandatory guidelines.
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**
Development and Implementation
- Assist in development, implementation and evaluation of programs/initiatives and/or policies related to the Division, working in consultation with the assigned Manager(s)
- Recommend changes to improve programs or policy and procedure
- Interpret and maintain knowledge on government policy, programs and legislation
- Support the creation and delivery of the staff development strategies required in the implementation of programs/ initiatives, policy, technology change and other professional development needs
- Provides feedback on the progress of staff in training and development strategies
- Review and interpret provincial memos/directives/regulations and develop appropriate policies and communications to staff
- Identify terms of reference and potential funding sources as well as developing funding proposals
Technology and Data
- Assist as an expert in the implementation and use of technology including provincial and local systems projects
- Possess knowledge on use of program specific systems as required, including but not limited to the provincial social assistance system, OCCMS and Yardi
- Assist in system issue understanding and resolution including ticket submission and follow up on resolutions with the necessary experts i.e. IT or the province
- Responsible for administration and maintenance of test files in the provincial database learning environment
- Provide research, analysis and data interpretation to support daily operations, project planning and other decision making within the Division. Complete needs/gap analysis, environmental scans and other data metrics and performance indicators
Communication
- Work collaboratively with other County departments, community based service providers and provincial professional associations (OMSSA) as it relates to staff development opportunities, creation of policy and procedures and the implementation of projects as well as building community capacity for Social Service Division services and programs
- Disseminate complex information by creating communication plans and tools to relay the information in a manner that promotes understanding and learning
- Exchange and provide information through multiple communication channels for a variety of audiences including one-on-one and group settings
General:
- Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
- Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position's Physical Demands Analysis

**Credentials Required**
Minimum Formal Education
- A university degree from an accredited post-secondary school institution with a minimum of 6 credits in relevant Human Services courses is required.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience working in the Social Services sector
- Project development and implementation experience preferred
- Current working knowledge of Ontario Works legislations and policies along
