**Specific Accountabilities**:

- Advocates, intervenes and acts on behalf of the CICE student with the faculty, other College students, and College-wide services
- Works collaboratively and communicates effectively with students, faculty and parents to provide the most supportive and assistive learning environment for CICE students
- Tutors individually and in groups and assists in the integration process in the classroom and college community. Communicates student progress to the CICE team
- Under the approval of the faculty, modifies course outlines, tests and assignments in collaboration with the faculty
- Supports students in skill development, goal setting and problem solving in relation to classes, tutoring.
- Develops study guides, review questions or project outlines to meet individual needs
- Other responsibilities as required

**About the Position**:
This is a full-time Support Staff position Bargaining Unit employee working in a less than 12 month role (months of July & August off) whereby you work 35 hours per week at an hourly rate of $35.06. You will report to the Manager, Centre for Access Programs.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2 year Educational Assistant diploma, Developmental Service Worker diploma, Child and Youth Worker diploma or Social Service Worker Diploma
- Social Science Degree would be considered an asset
- Minimum 2 years of experience with persons with developmental disabilities, persons

with significant learning challenges and experience in the teaching/tutoring environment
- Mental health training is an asset
- Knowledge and experience utilizing educational/learning strategies; Microsoft Teams, D2L experience is required
- Possess advocacy skills and a willingness to participate in marketing events
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, and patience
- Computer fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to work and make decisions independently as well as demonstrating a high level of initiative is essential
- Excellent organizational and creative problem solving skills
- An effective team player
