Summary of Position
The Project Coordinator is responsible for setting up jobs for production using Cabinet Vision software and ordering all project materials. The position liaises with other office employees to determine project and construction specifications and reviews project construction drawings and notes with cabinet makers. The position is also responsible for the maintenance and administration of Cabinet Vision Software.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Setting up project books for production including contacts, drawings, cut lists, project descriptions, materials ordered, etc.
- Setting up projects for production within Cabinet Vision software.
- Preparing purchase orders for initial materials and hardware, etc. at best pricing available and obtaining expected arrival dates where possible.
- Send or setup project files to machines for production if necessary.
- Liaising with other office employees to determine project and construction specifications.
- Reviewing project construction drawings and notes with cabinet makers.
- Recommend to Production Manager the level of skill required to complete each project.
- Maintaining, updating and administrating Cabinet Vision Software.
- Introduce alternate construction methods, etc. to help minimize production labour and increase profits.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications
Education/Licenses/Certificates
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in woodworking/cabinet making considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in project management considered an asset.
- Cabinet making certificate of qualification considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Experience
- At least three (2) years of experience setting up millwork jobs for production required, or related job set up.
- Experience working in an office and manufacturing environment considered an asset.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of the woodworking/millwork industry, including processes, procedures, equipment and machinery.
- Knowledge of general business and administrative management processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures as they relate to millwork.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD considered an asset.
**Skills**:
- High proficiency with Cabinet Vision software required.
- Superior problem solving and mechanical reasoning skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly detail oriented with a superior level of accuracy.
- Strong math and geometry skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
Working Conditions
- Office environment with occasional exposure to manufacturing area.
- Manual dexterity to use computers and office equipment.
- Manual dexterity to use woodworking equipment and machinery as required.
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
- Overtime and travel may be required.
