**Title: Archaeologist 2/Field Supervisor**

**Job Summary**:Katzie Development Limited Partnership is seeking causal, on call Archaeologist 2/Field Supervisor to assist with archaeological fieldwork on a large systematic data recovery program within a significant archaeological site. This position will also support other field programs.

This position is expected to be working towards Field Director status in the Northwest Coast Culture Region as per Bulletin 17. Primarily this role is designed to assist Senior Archaeologists in planning and supervising archaeological field programs. In addition, the archaeologist is expected to mentor Junior Archaeologists and field technicians.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Drafting archaeological site forms, permit reports, and other technical reports,
- Assisting and/ or supervising archaeological field programs independent of direct supervision.
- Training and mentoring the Junior Archaeologists and Archaeologist 1 team members.
- Liaising with First Nations and community members.
- Assisting with special projects.
- Assisting with proposals.
- Assisting with Junior Project Management and Coordination tasks.
- Pursuing Project Management training and certification.
- Any tasks assigned by a Senior Archaeologist and/or Manager of Archaeology.

Education, Experience, and Competence:

- Possess a MA, BA, and or BSc with an archaeological major
- Must be eligible for Associate member status of the British Columbia Association of Professional Archaeologists (BCAPA)
- Minimum 2 years-experience in Cultural Resource Management
- A valid class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
- Desire to work closely (in both leadership and supporting roles) with First Nations
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Be able to work independently
