The Quality Control Supervisor will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and
designated management as required. The Quality Control Supervisor will be
responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and testing products throughout
the full production cycle to ensure product alignment with the company,
quality and regulatory standards. The Quality Control Supervisor will monitor all
product movement and support the Quality Assurance Manager in the
implementation, monitoring and follow-up of Quality strategies and programs in all
aspects of production procedures and processes.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee product development procedures to identify any deviations from quality standards;
- Initiate Deviation Reports, Corrective Action and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) when investigating quality issues; report findings as necessary;
- Participate in writing and revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as may be required;
- Develop and recommend steps to improve the manufacturing process to ensure higher-quality goods;
- Document and update inspection results by completing reports and logs;
- Initiate audit programs (regulatory, internal and third party); participate in Health Canada audits and assist in replying to Health Canada observations;
- Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests;
- Develop, review and improve new specifications and procedures for products or processes based on inspection results; provide training to staff members where required;
- Provide leadership and mentorship to Quality Control Associates; supervise a small team of Quality Control Associates;
- Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations;
- Support product development activities;
- Other duties as may be required.
Required Responsibilities as per Cannabis Regulations:
- Function as QAP to support the RP or ARP in matters relating to Good Production Practices (GPP) and Record Keeping compliance during Health Canada inspections;
- Review and approve methods and procedures pertaining to GPP within the licensed site;
- Investigate complaints regarding quality of cannabis production and ensure immediate corrective action when necessary; take corrective and preventative measures;
- Ensure cannabis quality meets standards prior to release for sale; and
- Submit, secure, and maintain a valid security clearance.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or Biotechnology;
- 2+ years in a leadership or managerial position;
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Office;
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, capable of managing multiple complex project simultaneously;
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain and teach methodologies; and
- Understanding of production methods and procedures.

You are a CLEAR COMMUNICATOR capable of speaking and writing professionally, clearly and concisely.
You are a RESEARCH GURU, proficient in researching and retaining complicated compliance knowledge.
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years’ experience within a Quality Control position;
- Proven knowledge and experience in the stated responsibilities of the position (i.e. Food, Pharma, NHP);
- Demonstrated supervisory experience;
- Proven record of delivering on project goals;
- Previous experience as a QA/QC lead having direct responsibility for determining strategic objectives to meet quality with given resources and carry out tactical execution; and
- Preferred experience with cGMP, GPP, GAP, GLP, HACCP, ISO and FDA.
