YWCA Regina has opened a new Integrated Youth Services (IYS) Hub and is seeking a compassionate and experienced Youth Counsellor. The IYS Hub is part of a provincial initiative aimed at transforming how youth access the support they need - offering rapid access to integrated, culturally safe, and evidence-based services for youth aged 12-25. Services include mental health and addictions support, physical health services, education and employment resources, social services, youth and caregiver peer support, and cultural and traditional healing. As the IYS Youth Counsellor, this individual will provide professional, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed counselling services to youth ages 12-25. They will offer individual and group counseling support that addresses mental health, addictions, trauma, and wellness. The Youth Counsellor will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, supporting youth in a holistic and strength-based manner while valuing the principles of hard reduction.
**Responsibilities**:
- Deliver evidence-based, culturally sensitive individual and group counselling services to youth.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans that address emotional, mental health, and addiction needs.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and clinic staff within the hub to ensure integrated and holistic care for youth.
- Utilize a range of therapeutic modalities, including somatic approaches, brief therapy, and solution-focused methods.
- Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments, implementing safety planning as needed.
- Work in collaboration with traditional healers and community Elders to promote culturally relevant healing and integrate cultural teachings and practices into counseling services when able.
- Provide addiction recovery support, including harm reduction strategies, relapse prevention, and life skills development.
- Maintain case management, clinical records and documentation, ensuring all reports are accurate, timely, and confidential as per IYS standards.
- Collaborate with community partners, caregivers, and other service providers to support the overall wellbeing of youth.
- Actively participate in the ongoing development of the IYS hub and its services, contributing to a youth-centered, inclusive, and responsive environment.
- Engage in regular clinical supervision and professional development to ensure high-quality service delivery**.**
**Qualifications**:
- Master of Social Work, Master of Arts (Psychology), or Master of Education (Psychology)
- Member in good standing with professional governing body such as the CCPA
- Minimum of six years’ experience with demonstrated knowledge and professional practice skills in frontline services including case management, case conceptualization, counselling or clinical services, program management, and/or brief service/crisis intervention.
- Familiarity with a wide variety of evidenced based therapeutic modalities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully in a team environment.
- Experience working with youth involved in the justice system or facing systemic barriers.
- Familiarity with Indigenous cultures and the impacts of colonialism on justice and social systems.
- Evening and weekend availability.
- Strong case management and counselling skills.

Pay: $78,156.00-$82,063.80 per year
