Quality Assurance Lead

At Axsium, the QA Lead is a crucial role in the software development process, working in the space between the development team and the product team. The QA Lead will be responsible for creating automated testing strategies, configuring tools, building scripts, and managing the QA process for Axsium’s internally developed SaaS systems. The QA Lead will have a wide range of activities from actively participating in hands-on QA to organizing and leading others in QA activities to working with both the development team and product team to understand the technologies in use and the desired functionality.

Remote role based in Canada.

**Responsibilities**:
Contribute to development sprints by taking and completing stories with the following requirements for deliverables:

- Actively participates in hands-on quality assurance
- Organizes and leads others in quality and assurance activities
- Works with both the development team and product team to understand the technologies in use and the desired functionality
- Write test scripts for user stories
- Executes test scripts approved for testing and report the test results
- Able to plan and lead test execution with ad hoc part-time resources
- Coordinate with Dev Manager and Product Manager
- Log and report bugs identified
- Track and report testing progress and for each sprint cycle

**Requirements**:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid understanding of automation test methodologies, frameworks, tools, and techniques
- API testing for functional, performance, and load test automation (SoapUI/ReadyAPI, LoadUI, Postman, Rest-assured)
- Front end testing (Jest, Selenium, Cypress)
- Version control systems (Git)
- Working with DevOps to provide automation in CI/CD (Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Jenkins)
- Understanding of databases and SQL
- Basic programming skills like C#, Java, JavaScript, SQL, and Shell
- Managing the work with a positive attitude and proactive mindset
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in computer sciences, information technology, or a similar field
