**Manager of Human Resources**

**Salary Range: $122,838- $129,703**

The Near North District School Board is located in the heart of northeastern Ontario and serves approximately 10,000 students each day in 33 schools, with approximately 1,500 unionized and non-unionized staff who along with caring volunteers and community partners, share their passion for teaching and learning. We are looking for a dynamic, experienced human resources professional to assume the role of Manager of Human Resources for our board.

**Position Summary**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Completion of a four-year university degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, Commerce, Public Administration, Psychology, or equivalent. A graduate degree is preferred.
- A CHRP designation is required, CHRL designation preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in human resources with a minimum of five years’ experience in labour relations or in a human resource supervisory role.
- Substantive experience in collective bargaining and negotiations, including a thorough understanding of the collective bargaining process in the education sector in Ontario.
- Training and experience in conflict resolution is preferred.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- **Excellent consensus building, leadership and communication skills;
- The ability to develop and maintain positive relationships across diverse stakeholder communities;
- A team focused management style;
- A demonstrated track record in the effective management of people and budgets;
- Experience with HR metrics and knowledge of HR systems and databases, with knowledge of Easy Connect, Parklane, K212 and Staffing Plus an asset.
- A strategic program delivery approach.
