Job Description:
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor, under the direction of the Plant Manager, is primarily responsible for overseeing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments. This position will inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse workers relating to all shipping activities. When needed, the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will operate a forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.

Role #1: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor 100% of time

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse workers relating to all shipping activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis and solves shipping/receiving problems, including solutions and paths to prevent errors.
- Coach and develop shipping/receiving teams in all plants, including conducting training, development, and performance-monitoring activities.
- May operate forklift, hand truck, or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods.
- Direct movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
- Study shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
- Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel for repair.
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
- Arrange transportation that optimizes service and cost.
- Inspect incoming materials and notify appropriate staff of potential quality issues.
- Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Ensure the shipping area is organized and clean at all times and meets all compliance requirements.
- Ensure that all employees are in compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations and other company-related policies and procedures.
- Compile and maintain applicable metrics as required, including ensuring production order and status accuracy.
- Maintain the function and operation of the warehouse.

- Other duties as assigned.
- In addition to the responsibilities listed above, employees are also expected to complete other duties as required. All employees are expected to have familiarized themselves with the Health & Safety and Human Resources manuals, including their responsibilities as outlined in each._
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Materials Management, or equivalent experience in related field preferred.

Experience & Knowledge:

- 5+ years of related work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a warehouse environment or equivalent experience in overseeing function.
- Ability to manage staff.
- Forklift Certificate from a reputable training school preferred.
- Experience with an ERP system (preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions:

- Works in manufacturing facility with flexibility for travel to off-site meetings.
- Usually works a standard forty-four (44) hour work week.
