POSITION OVERVIEW: *
The primary role of the Maintenance Manager will be to plan, coordinate, and ensure timely completion of all maintenance projects for VNI production facilities, and to develop and manage a preventative maintenance of all equipment to ensure optimal functioning and continuous operations in our plant equipment and facilities. The responsibilities include preventive maintenance, ongoing maintenance work orders, projects related to plant expansion, and building facilities. The Maintenance Manager directs, supports, and trains the maintenance staff in a manner that creates engagement and productivity within the team.
Working collaboratively with the Plant Manager, this role includes active participation in capital projects and continuous improvement programs aimed at improving operational effectiveness and efficiency within the plant. As a key member of the Vitalus team, participates in organizational projects and initiatives.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**
- Oversee ongoing maintenance operations to ensure reliability, availability, and continued operations.
- Plan, implement and direct maintenance of the plant facility and equipment to meet plant production needs.
- Plan major maintenance projects and develop capital investment recommendations for the Plant.
- Develop, enhance and ensure the execution of a successful preventive maintenance program.
- Oversee the development of preventive maintenance schedules and ensure schedules are adhered to.
- Manage the operating budgets for maintenance supplies & labour.
- Develop and maintain a team-based work environment by providing leadership, direction, coaching, training, and clear and consistent communication to the maintenance staff.
- Oversees all maintenance tradespersons and building facilities personnel.
- Ensure a respectful, safe, and healthy work environment for employees.

**COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Ability)**
- Knowledge of maintenance planning and system implementation.
- Experience with reliability centered maintenance considered an asset.
- Understanding of equipment technologies and limitations and their effect on safety, quality, productivity and cost.
- Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System and Enterprise / Manufacturing Resource Planning systems i.e. Fiix and Navision.
- Working knowledge of quality assurance, good manufacturing practices, HACCP or ISO 22000.
- Knowledge of refrigeration, boiler and safety province and federal regulations.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing-related maintenance leadership role in a manufacturing facility, preferably food processing.
- Post-secondary education in technical field, valid trade license is an asset, or equivalent experience.
- Strong technical and maintenance background to support various maintenance activities.
- Strong experience in developing and maintaining preventive and ongoing maintenance programs
- Flexibility to respond to issues outside of working hours.
