We are seeking a proactive and detail orientated **Safety Lead** to join our team.
As the Safety Lead with Klondike, you will be responsible for leading, and maintaining a safe workplace and our COR certification.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Promote and maintain good working relationships and collaboration with peers, clients, consultants, and suppliers
- Ensure safety is a priority that is managed in every project
**SAFETY LEAD**
- Manage and supervise compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and best practices on-site to meet or exceed all WorkSafeBC regulations and requirements
- Stop unsafe work or any work that does not meet our requirements and standards
- Develop, implement, and evaluate our health and safety programs
- Lead our company in establishing and maintaining COR Safety certification
- Implement and manage our injury management program
- Review, implement and support site-specific safe work practices & safe job procedures
- Meet regularly with team members to provide safety training, education, guidance
- Participate and support our team in conducting effective incident investigations that identify underlying causes and effective corrective measures
- Create and review incident reports, monthly statistics, and inspection reports to identify undesirable trends and provide appropriate recommendations
- Manage all WorkSafeBC Claims and Health and safety-related issues
- Chair our Joint Health & Safety Meetings
- Lead contact for all COVID related issues
- Maintain and replenish required safety and first aid gear
- Other duties, as required
**Required Experience & Skills**:
- BC Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer designation (NCSO)
- 5+ years of experience as a safety lead in commercial, institutional, and civil construction
- Exceptional communication, management, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong construction safety leadership, and approach to all work
- Strong skills in safety training and certifications
- Working knowledge with MS Project, Office, and construction management software
- High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
- Highly self-motivated and accountable
- Access to a vehicle and a BC driver’s license to drive to project sites throughout the lower mainland
- You will be provided with a company vehicle and gas card
