Assistant Controller

The **Assistant Controller** is responsible to deliver to Senior Management all information requested on project performances, budgets, issues or risks in order to help them to make accurate decisions throughout the project lifecycle. This position is also a key liaison between the Finance and Operations Teams.

**What is the role?**
- Ensure that Project Management decisions are respected applied, and well documented
- Prepare 3 times yearly reporting for PM's relating to budget and forecasting with periodic updates
- Ensure divisional operational accounts are reliable by checking and verifying; K factor, job results, risks on receivables, stocks, follow-up on billing
- Ensure group management accounts are reliable; financial reporting; overhead; variances (labour and equipment), global risks
- Support month end activities including preparing/reviewing monthly and quarterly financial reporting
- Monitor project cost transactions and ensure costs are allocated accurately
- Work with Project Managers to ensure that all costs are recorded monthly and all projects are billed monthly
- Work closely with Project Management teams to ensure purchasing is in line with project estimates
- Assist in identifying ways to streamline the day-to-day project management, project coordinating, and project administration operations as they relate to the accounting department and make processes more efficient and accurate
- Assist with external audit process including liaise with auditors, prepares and reviews working papers for auditors
- Respond to all inquiries from senior management
- Provide detailed variance analysis on a monthly basis
- Assess, support and advise senior managers
- Develop, recommend and implement general accounting

**What do we value?**
- Professional designation (CPA)
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in the construction industry or a project based environment
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in reporting in a multi divisional organization, preferably with experience in the construction industry
- Experience in report designing, implementation and support
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
